The Bee Friendly Garden

What a great book! I love to garden so this book is great to have on hand. This book is filled with a ton of useful information and absolutely gorgeous photos. Honestly, it's the type of book that some people may pick up just for the photos. Don't overlook the information though! It's already given me some great ideas for my beds this year and I know that before I start collecting up what I need, I'll be diving back into the pages to see what other information and ideas I may have missed. After all, I don't want to pick up something that drives bees away by mistake! Know how I'll avoid that pitfall? There's a section on it in the book!

So, gardeners, bee lovers, flower lovers and nature lovers...pick up a copy of this book and start planning your own gardens!

Cravings: Recipes for All The Food You Want to Eat

I really enjoyed this cookbook. The book is beautiful, the photography is perfection, and the writing is fun and easy to read. The recipes look so good and simple. I love that she kept the ingredients simple and easy to shop for. I feel like I could make a ton of the recipes with ingredients I already have or that I normally purchase. I loved Chrissy Teigen, but now I am obsessed! It's  also pretty funny, each recipe has a little story or thought from Chrissy herself. I am very excited to start making some recipes from this cookbook. This is a true cookbook. The recipes are an extension of her photos on Instagram and her blog that I have been drooling over for the past couple of years.  Pick up this book! You won't be disappointed!!

American Heart Association

Loved this cookbook. This is my absolute favorite cookbook. I bought this when I first found out I have high cholesterol, and it is now my go-to. The portions are generous and the food is actually tasty- not just "this tastes good for something healthy." Plus, all the recipes I have made so far take less than half an hour, which makes it possible to have a delicious, healthy dinner even on a weeknight. Thanks to these recipes from the American Heart Association, changing your diet to be low-fat AND low-cholesterol couldn't be any simpler! Directions are clearly written, often including cook's tips for a variation and/or explanation. The cookbook provides in-depth information, written in everyday language, regarding such topics as healthy diets, cholesterol, and stocking a heart-healthy pantry. These recipes prove that eating healthy does NOT mean eating bland and boring food. Thank you AHA for showing us how simple life-changing cooking can be.

The Tabasco Cookbook

Tabasco is the quintessentially American sauce. Simple, straightforward, unaffected by the elements, it stands proud on tables from Boston to Los Angeles. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner will find someone reaching for the special pepper sauce from Avery Island, Louisiana. It is only fitting that the McIlhenny family committed to writing their favorite recipes highlighting their family's ubiquitous condiment. The Tabasco® Brand Cookbook is compact and entertaining. A touch of history, a dash of anecdote, and many signature Cajun and Creole recipes makes this an essential and amusing addition to your cookbook library.

As one would expect from a sauce that is at home on scrambled eggs or in clam chowder, the many and varied uses for Tabasco are explored in this book. While its uses are diverse, it is more than a way to add some "zip" in a dish. Its unique recipe produces a unique flavor, and though there are many challengers in the hot sauce section of your local grocery store or gourmet shop, there is only one sauce from Avery Island. While the book predates their expanded product line, many of these dishes could use the chipotle infused Tabasco or - if you really want to heat things up - the habaƱero brand. If you have the sauce, you need to have the cookbook, and if you don't have either, what are you waiting for?

I would recommend this book to everyone.

Clear Your Clutter

This book inspired me to do a complete "feng shui" clean-out of my home! I have been scaling down my belongings for the past few weeks and feel such a surge of excitement with this wonderful revitalization of my living space.

In the process of reading this book and clearing space in my home/life, I have had to stop and consider every single object I have been holding on to...and ask myself: Why? Why do I still own this thing? If it still has a use, then fine, but if there is any negative memory attached to it, then its presence in my home will keep me in the past. Instead, getting rid of things like this will allow me to grow toward positive experiences in my present and future. Also, quite practically, clearing clutter creates space for new things...

I was amazed that this whole process of letting go works on so many levels. There is the physical aspect of it, of course, but it is also a cathartic, emotional experience. It was also a meditative process, too, awakening my spiritual sense (in a similar way that Yoga does for me), giving the old proverb "cleanliness is next to Godliness" a new meaning in my life!

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to invite new energy in his/her home. It's amazing how the physical world around us, especially the home, can manifest in other areas of our lives as well.

Cats in Paris

Cats in Paris: A Magical Coloring Book.

What a great adult coloring book. The cats are displayed throughout the book in cute, creative ways. I could sit for hours coloring in this sweet, cute book. The drawings are just beautiful. The details in the book are so beautiful and creative. Coloring books aren't just for kids anymore. This adult coloring book is great for stress relief, relaxation and just pure fun for anyone. I really didn't think I would enjoy these type of books. I did enjoy this book. I would recommend this book to everyone who needs to unwind and distress!

It Was Me All Along

I discovered this blogger a few years back when a friend sent me a link. We both marveled at her honesty and uncensored thoughts. The way she described her feelings and relationship with food was unlike any other I had seen before. I don't read her blog too often but I just love her personality and style and sense of compassion and grace. Her underlying message of her being the same person is vitally important. I wish more people saw it that way. My heart broke for the childhood Andie and the one who was still lost even after losing 135lbs. The middle of the book was a bit slow for me but I loved the end and how she tied everything together. One of the most notable takeaways was that the world is going to continue to spin on its axis whether or not I hate my body. I hope she does well and publishes more, because I will definitely read!
