League of Denial

"League of Denial" by ESPN journalists Mark Fainaru-Wada and Steve Fainaru is an interesting and somehow shocking read for NFL fans, about some awful discoveries related to diseases and deaths of ex-NFL players.
Wow. What a great book. A very eye opening book. I like the discussions of the issue of potential of brain damage. I don't think helmets help much. They prevent scull concussions, but not internal brain rattling. All sports come with some kind of risk.
These guys tell a detailed and frightening account of how the NFL for years did everything they could to silence specialized doctors that were sounding the alarm on the brain damage epidemic that is tragically robbing former players of normal lives after their career. You'll never watch a game the same way after reading this. It is also thoroughly entertaining. You won't be able to put it down.
I recommend this book!

*I received this book from Blogging for Books for my review*
